Cornerstone Weddings

We have had the pleasure of working with Kim Payant many times over the past couple of years.

Located in Banff, but originally from Quebec, Kim knows the most popular places to have your wedding photos taken in the Bow Valley.  However, her experience living here, means she also knows the hidden gems and unique places that out of town photographers may not know.  Aside from her wedding photography work, Kim also has a fashion photography background which really helps with posing couples in natural positions and ensuring they feel comfortable in front of the camera.

Christine and Kyle – winter wedding

Saturday 14th January 2017

Kim Payant Photography - Cornerstone Weddings
Christine and Kyle chose a crisp winter day for their wedding and said their I Do’s at the beautiful St Michael Anglican Church.

They decorated the theatre with rose gold and greenery and arrived before their guests for the reception so they could see the room all set up.

They welcomed guests with a glass of prosecco along with some baked brie, vegetable spring rolls, bruschetta and parmesan crisps.

Their guests dined on a buffet including peppercorn striploin, salmon and honey chipotle pork tenderloin.

Their late night snack was the very popular flatbread pizza.

Christine, Kyle and their guests danced the night away to music from our in-house DJ Gaston

Krystle & Dwight – fall wedding

Saturday 15th October 2016

Kim Payant Photography - Cornerstone Weddings
Krystle and Dwight have a love of the great outdoors and the beautiful Rockies.  Quarry Lake in Canmore was the perfect location for them to exchange their vows.  Their fall wedding was warm enough for an outdoor ceremony.  It had snowed the day before and the snowcapped mountains created a beautiful backdrop for pictures.

The theatre was dressed with white satin table overlays and chair overs with blush pink sequin runners.  Their tables were finished with beautiful arrangements from Willow Flower Co.

They treated their guests to milk chocolate bear paws from The Fudgery in Banff for their wedding favours.

Guests were served a premium dinner buffet of roasted lemon thyme chicken, salmon, peppercorn striploin served from our chef attended carving station, garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables and two salads.

Food service was completed with a perogie bar for their late night snack.

Krystle and Dwight continued their wedding celebrations the next morning by offering brunch for their guests. Although Cornerstone Theatre is unable to offer this in 2018 for our wedding couples, this is a service available at the Canmore Nordic Centre Banquet Room through Cornerstone Catering.  See our breakfast menu options here

Shanyn & Josh – summer wedding

Saturday 3rd September 2016

Kim Payant Photography - Cornerstone Weddings
Shanyn and Josh were a memorable couple.  They had a whimsical fairyland feel to their decor with ivory and gold that extended to their beautiful daughter and her cousin who were both dressed in exquisite fairy outfits.

They had a scroll backdrop on our stage that was stunning and really complemented the feel of the room and the personality of our couple.

Guests were welcomed with appetizers including meatballs and mango duck bites.

Their buffet included lemon thyme chicken, striploin and roasted root vegetables.  Guests were also fed a late night snack of the very popular flatbread pizza.

This photo of Shanyn in the trees (left) was used for the front cover of our 2018 brochure for the Canmore Nordic Centre.  The photo of Shanyn throwing her bouquet (below) is still one of my favourites as the look on her face shows how happy she felt that day.

Leslie & Philomena– summer wedding

Thursday 31st August 2017

Kim Payant Photography - Cornerstone Weddings
Lesley and Philomena were a great couple.  We discovered that they met online and later got engaged in the mountains.  They hosted their wedding at the theatre and decorated with not only our regular rectangular tables but added cocktail tables too.

They had rich colour tones including burgundy that really complement our room.

Their lantern centrepieces were amazing with real plants, greenery and lights inside.  We loved them!

Philomena also used her creativity and included some of her own hand made pieces in with the decor too.

The ladies said their I Do’s at Two Jake Lake.

Guests arrived at the theatre and were welcomed with a glass of prosecco with a blooming hibiscus flower inside.

Guests dined on brie and spinach stuffed chicken breasts in a rosemary cream sauce, striploin and salmon.  They also chose curried cauliflower mash.

Later in the evening guests carbed up with pizza, potato skins and a mini popcorn bar.

DJ Gaston provided the music for the evening and guests got silly with our photobooth.
