Touring venues is one of the most exciting and important tasks on your wedding planning checklist. It’s the perfect opportunity to start envisioning your big day and ask the questions that can make the rest of your planning go smoothly.

And although we think it’s easy to fall in love with a venue like ours sight unseen, we always recommend that couples participate in a virtual or in-person tour to make sure we’re the right fit.

Here are some questions to ask during your tour:

“What do I need to know about using this site”: Understanding the venue’s responsibilities is important when planning your party. Curfews, for example, will range quite a bit. At Cornerstone Theatre, your venue rental runs until 2 a.m. – one of the latest in Canmore!

“Do you have a backup ceremony space”: If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, it’s important to know what options your venue has available in the event of inclement weather. At Cornerstone Weddings, we only book one event per day, which means you always have your indoor reception space as a ceremony backup.

“Are there any other events in town during my desired dates?”: Canmore is a busy tourist town, and accommodation can fill up quickly during peak season. Planning ahead is key, especially if your guests are traveling from out of town.
